wow. just wow.
&& there’s nothing like the night air seeping through my window screen, smelling of chills and old rain. it always brings comfort as its softness plays companion to the quietness of suburbia. night here is a friend to my mind, the witching hour a better one.
&& I will forever love looking out my window during this time. the darkness of its not quite there yet black tinged by lights in the far west, paints the sky darks shades of blues instead. twinkling dots sparingly dot the sky, rivals of light not as bright offering the knowledge of the years they’ve known.
&& the mountains loom in the south, their dark shadows a stark contrast to not quite black sky. trees sway slightly and the chirping of crickets find their way with the breeze. yellow street lights casting their glow, a warmth only my eyes feel and my body will never know.
&& this is comfort. this is safety. this is home.
